FIFA unveils new World Cup rules

From June 15 to July 13, 2025, 32 teams will take part in the Club World Cup.

FIFA has revealed the new rules:

● Participating clubs will submit a final list of a minimum of 26 players and a maximum of 35 (at least 3 must be goalkeepers).

● A maximum of 26 players (11 starters and a maximum of 15 substitutes) will be called up to play each match.

● No footballer will be able to play for two different teams in the World Cup.

● Clubs may make the following changes to the final list: a) Clubs may replace players whose contracts have naturally expired during the competition; b) clubs can add a maximum of 2 new players to the final list, which will not be taken into account when calculating the maximum of 35 players.
