Erion Braçe has reacted to the prices of fruits and vegetables in Tirana, after an observation in the market from the "Vasil Shanto" school to the Ish-Nishrak Bridge.
Braçe said that often when he buys products, he doesn't agree with the price, even though he comes from the areas where they are produced.
According to him, to have cheaper fruits and vegetables, two main issues must be considered: the farmer's cost and the selling costs.
He emphasized that the farmer has a minimum cost below which he cannot sell, because if he fails to cover his expenses, he risks not being able to plant again next year.
Braçe also raised concerns that part of the price in Tirana comes from rents for units where products are sold. He proposed that the municipality create free spaces for farmers, support local production, and apply policies that reduce the costs of food sales.
According to him, lowering prices requires support for agriculture and better conditions for direct sales by farmers.
Braca's reaction:
TIRANA/5
how
IN THE #TERRITORY, TO BUY VEGETABLES
AND FRUIT
ON THE SIDEWALK FROM VASIL SHANTO SCHOOL TO
FORMER NSHRAK BRIDGE:
THE VEGETABLES AND FRUITS ARE HERE AND THE PRICES WERE THESE THAT YOU HEAR!
Are they high? Every time I buy, I don't agree with the price; even I come to the city from the fields where they produce!
But keep in mind two things: first, the farmer has a cost below which he cannot sell - if he does, he will not plant again next year; WE WANT CHEAPER FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, THE STATE MUST SUPPORT THE FARMER IN ADVANCE, REDUCE HIS COSTS; second, part of the price of vegetables and fruits in Tirana is made up of the rent of the units where they are sold; WE WANT CHEAPER FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, THE MUNICIPALITY OF TIRANA TO CREATE FREE SPACES FOR FARMERS TO SELL; THE MUNICIPALITY OF
SUBSIDIZE THE PRODUCTION OF TIRANA'S FARMERS PER KILOGRAM; THE MUNICIPALITY SHOULD APPLY ANOTHER, LOWER TAX ON PROPERTIES THAT ARE UNITS WHERE FOOD IS TRADED!
That's what I'll do!
