The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, announced on Sunday evening that she has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, a difficult endurance test that consists of climbing the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
Kate started the challenge on Saturday evening and managed to complete it within the set deadline.
Explaining the reason for her involvement in this initiative, the princess said she wanted to send a message of hope to all those facing cancer.
"No one should be left alone in the battle against cancer. That's why I decided to take on the 'National Three Peaks' challenge not just as a physical challenge, but as an opportunity to explore life beyond the diagnosis and to give something back to others," she said.
Kate also spoke about the profound impact the disease has on patients' lives, emphasizing that treatment is not just about the physical aspect.
"Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes the way you think and feel, profoundly affecting every aspect of life. I know this personally, and I know that the journey during and after treatment requires more than just medication," the princess said.
