Smoke in the cabin! Carpatair plane makes emergency landing in Athens

An Airbus aircraft of the private Romanian airline "Carpatair", operating the Athens-Riga flight, made an emergency landing on Thursday morning at Athens' "Eleftherios Venizelos" International Airport, following reports of smoke in the cockpit.
According to Greek media sources and Flightradar24 data, the plane returned to the airport a few minutes after takeoff as a safety measure. There were about 150 passengers on board.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured and all passengers are in good health.
After landing, the aircraft will undergo a technical inspection to determine the cause of the incident. No official announcement has yet been made by the airline or civil aviation authorities regarding the technical details of the incident.
