In this week's episode I talked with Ben Derhem. He has done many roles, but Flor from "People and Fate" stuck to his skin, as it often happens with some actors who are haunted by a role forever.
The telenovela "People and Fate", for me as a journalist, has been a triumph for the time and context in which it was made.
I am just as disappointed, as many others, that today as a society we are fed up with Turkish soap operas. I have no feeling of antipathy, because I believe in the acceptance of the other, but I reject the invasion, which has been so easy in a country where cinematography and artists have to do acrobatics to succeed.
That's why I invited Ben, for the luck of Flori and our cinema and for the luck of Ben himself. A lot of things have happened in his life, the separation with his partner of many years, his health, his return with a film about "People and Fate".
We talked about everything. No gloves and sometimes when I talk to the artists I feel like they are walking off a stage, or walking up to the stage. The voice, the facial expressions, a kind of simplicity.
Although up close people, actors or singers, innovators or scientists, doctors or geniuses, believe me they are all the same: fragile before life.
That's how Ben Derhemi seemed to me
