STEM, the second phase of the project for the digital education of young people begins
The program of the new digital generation in Albania STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), the application of which started last year, after the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the Vodafone Albania Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Sports, starts the second phase of training of teachers and students aged 12-14, a program which this year will be extended to 60 schools throughout the country.
This project aims to develop digital skills in students, so that they can think of innovative solutions and create a better future for everyone with the help of technology.
The development of digital skills through STEM and through the contribution of this project will undoubtedly increase students' communication skills, creativity, confidence, perseverance and practical solutions to various problems that students may encounter in everyday life.
The first phase of this project was successfully completed in June with the participation of 15 schools. During this phase, 30 teachers were trained. More than 50 projects were presented, of which 4 were selected as the best projects. The projects that deserved the first two prizes were realized by the students of the "Sule Harri" school in Elbasan. As a promise kept, the Vodafone Albania Foundation (Vodafone Albania Foundation) donated 10 laptops to the students of this school, as support for these children to continue their love for technology and continue with the creation of projects that bring well-thought-out technological solutions to improve, facilitate or make life in the community safer.
Evis Kushi, CEO e Vodafone Albania, znj.
And the Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Evis Kushi said: "I am happy from the cooperation with the Vodafone Foundation for the signing of the agreement for the Generation Next program and the success it had in the first phase. I emphasize the importance of digitization and technology for the new generation".
Generation Next is part of the Skills Upload Jr Program which is financed by the Vodafone Group Foundation, as part of the strategic agenda for digital training in Europe (investing 40 million euros in European markets) and which will extend over the next 3 years. Digital empowerment is part of Vodafone's objectives.
