A Unily report on British workers has found that notifications coming in on the phone are too distracting during working hours. It is estimated that these notifications come at least every quarter of an hour, but even more often.
All this has a cost.
The JobPricing Observatory tried to measure this in a scientific way, investigating the behaviors of nearly 900 workers who responded to a survey. This survey found that employees lost at least 12.9%, or roughly one hour out of an eight-hour workday.
How about translating it into money?
Given that the average salary of a worker in Italy in 2023 was 30,838 euros per year, this 13% translates into a cost of 3,995 euros per year for each worker. So almost 4000 thousand euros for an unrealized job.
