Pastries make you as happy as sports and music

Eat more pasta! They make you happy as much as music and sports. This is the result of a longitudinal study, i.e. extended over time. The study started from 1960. Published in The Lancet Public Health, the result is that pasta promotes a good mood. The reason for this effect is the vitamin B it contains as well as being rich in tryptophan.

Many people, especially in Mediterranean countries such as France, Spain, Greece and especially Italy, consider pasta to be a comfort food, as it is quick to cook, but also delicious.

The pastes contain the amino acids L-Phenylalanine and Tryptophan, which are known to increase serotonin levels in the brain, contributing to feelings of happiness.

In addition, the carbohydrates in pasta are factors that increase the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of happiness.
