"Euro 2024" starts today, the first match is Germany - Scotland

'Euro 2024' starts this evening at 21:00 at the 'Allianz Arena' in Munich with the match between Germany and Scotland.

Italy is the reigning champion.

Despite being the host country, Germany is not among the favorites. It is the fault of the disastrous last World Cup, with elimination in the first round and a European in 2021, which ended in 1/16 against England.

For Scotland, this is their fourth appearance after 1992, 1996 and 2020. The Scots will be looking to sell big, even if they have never made it past the group stage.

The 'Golden Book' describes three victories for Germany (two as West Germany, 1972 and 1980, and one after reunification, in 1996) and Spain (1964, 2008, 2012), two victories for Italy (1968, 2021) and France ( 1984, 2000), a victory for the Soviet Union (1960), Czechoslovakia (1976), the Netherlands (1988), Denmark (1992), Greece (2004) and Portugal (2016).

The possible formations of today's match are:

Germany (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Kimmich, Rudiger, Schlotterbeck, Raum; Andrich, Kroos, Gundogan; Musiala, Wirtz; Havertz. Tr. Nagelsmann.

Scotland (3-4-2-1): Gunn; Porteous, Hendry, Tierney; Ralston, McGregor, Gilmour, Robertson; McGinn, McTominay; Adams. Tr. Clark.
