Granit Xhaka is among the 30 nominees for the Golden Ball 2024. This is the first time that the contender is an Albanian name.
Ragip Xhaka, the footballer's father, who has followed the career of his sons, Granit and Taulant Xhaka, made a reaction on social networks, not only as a parent, but also as a manager.
"Today is a special day and filled with great pride for me and our family. My son, Graniti, has been nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award. He is the first Albanian and at the same time the only Swiss player to has reached this level in the world of football, and for that we are extremely happy and excited.
His hard work, dedication and sacrifices have made his dreams come true and the name of Albanians written in history. I thank you all for the support and love you have given Granit over the years.
