Three new buildings in the Student City, Veliaj: We will transform it into a university campus

The year 2023 will be the year of students for Tirana. Mayor Erion Veliaj, who inspected the works for the construction of three new student buildings in the Student City, said that this is the last construction site that will fundamentally transform the lives of students in the capital.
"The year 2023, in addition to being the year of the European City of Sports, will also be known as the year of students for Tirana and the investments made. The investments started years ago, when the host structure at the Agricultural University of Tirana in Kodër-Kamzë was completed. There we built eight fantastic buildings, designed by the architect Vinny Mass, and completed by the Municipality of Tirana, with a government grant to recover the consequences of the earthquake. At the Faculty of Engineering, we finished the buildings, together with our German colleagues and KFË. Also, we finished our investment in the Faculty of Medicine.
Kemi zgjidhur tre nga katër vatrat e akomodimit të studentëve, ndaj ky është viti kur plotësojmë edhe “Qytetin Studenti”. Këtu kemi tre godina të reja 7-katëshe, me ashensorë, me super dhoma, me të gjitha kushtet. Ndërsa kanë dalë tashmë fituesit e pesë godinave të reja, që do të bëhen me fondin e KFË-së,” u shpreh Veliaj.
Ai zbuloi planin e Bashkisë së Tiranës për ta kthyer “Qytetin Studenti” në një kampus universitar dinjitoz.
“Dikur ‘Qyteti Studenti’ konsiderohej si periferi e Tiranës, por sot është përqafuar nga urbanizimi. Ka ardhur nevoja që autobusët të kenë hapësirën e tyre, prandaj gjatë shkurtit do të transferohen në Lundër, në Terminalin Lindor.
The 'Student City', since it has free land, will not be just a dormitory environment, but will come to life like any other university campus in the world, where both the faculties and the reception areas are together in the same space. Very soon we will present the new concepts for the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences, i.e. the new buildings that will be located here," said Veliaj.
"As long as the students don't need to get into Tirana's traffic, but will leave the dormitory to go to the faculty, I believe it will really be a winning formula for Tirana and for the students who come and become part of the staff of the city. The better we receive them in Tirana, the more dignified citizens we will be for the Tirana we love", said Veliaj.
