"Bedri Llagami" in Vaqarr is the new school that will welcome 600 students with better conditions for them. During the inspection of the works, Mayor Veliaj said:
"Today is a very good day for Vaqarri! We are at the end of the work for the new school "Bedri Lllagami" - a school united with preschool, 9-year-old and high school - with which we finally solve the problem of the community. First we sheltered the people affected by the earthquake, now we are building the school, and the third step is the local institutions".
He had a call for anyone who occupies public spaces.
"To occupy the school yard where children gather is a shame. But, like any other work of the municipality, where we are used to blockages and trials from politics, here too we had delays. It is a sin that we cannot finish the entrance of the school yet because we are in court with someone who has built a bar within the territory of the school. This is not a godless country! I do not believe that there are judges who continue to allow legalizations in cemeteries and schoolyards. The call to the citizen who has occupied the school to make a bar is simple: Leave before the force of law enters! It is not about a needy person or a person who is without a home. It is about a man who, for 30 or so years, in this transition period, earned money in the school yard. Everything has a limit. Now that the school becomes new, we cannot go back to the old habits", said Veliaj.
In the end, Veliaj invited residents to enroll their children in schools near their homes to avoid overcrowding and double-shift teaching.
"The gym will be at the service of the community, along with the soccer fields and sports fields. We gain not only an academic campus from ages 4-18, but also a sports campus. The invitation to all parents is: Vaqarri is now a neighborhood of Tirana. The bus comes here, the road has been repaired, we are a few minutes away from the Great Ring Road. It is a sin to torture children, taking them to the Combine. Now that we have a new school, which is the envy of the center of Tirana, the children should be registered here", said Veliaj.
