The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has responded to the Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic, who accused him of staging the explosion in the Ibër-Lepenc canal.
According to Kurt, this terrorist attack is similar to the scenario used by Russia at the beginning of the aggression against Ukraine.
"Serbia is copying Russian methods to threaten our region, but even this will fail as we have relied on Western democratic values. Even finding symbols of the Russian army strengthens the idea, according to Kurti, that Serbia is copying Russian methods to harm Kosovo. If the act had been fully implemented, the damage would have been great for the economy and energy.
The weight of the consequences of this attack, if it achieved its goal, would be staggering. This attack was intended to cause irreparable damage to Kosovo's infrastructure. This would cause interruptions in energy production from the Kosova B Thermal Power Plant for weeks. Furthermore, we would have interruptions in the supply of water factories, leaving over 300,000 citizens without water," said Kurti.
