This summer had the hottest months ever. June, July, August were above the global average, since the time when the measurements started.

The average temperature for the three months of summer 2024 was 0.69 degrees Celsius above the corresponding value of the years from 1991 to 2020.

According to data from Copernicus experts, June had a surface temperature of 16.66 degrees Celsius, hotter than ever before.

July was also hotter than average.

For August, although the new maximum level has not been measured, it is expected to be above average.
