The decision on sentencing Donald Trump will be made after the election.

The decision, which was to be taken on September 18, will be announced on November 26 so as not to influence the presidential elections.

Trump was found guilty in May by a New York court of 34 counts of falsifying company records.

Trump risks being sentenced to up to four years in prison. However, Judge Merchan has the power to punish him with a fine, a conditional sentence, or a short prison sentence.

Trump himself has repeatedly denied any accusations and described the trial against him as shameful.
