Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in Turkey's presidential election.
"The election victory was a result of your work as the head of the Republic of Turkey, clear evidence of the support of the Turkish people for your efforts to strengthen state sovereignty and develop an independent foreign policy. We greatly appreciate your contribution to strengthening Russian-Turkish friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields," Putin said.
