Putin threatens NATO: You will go to war with Russia if Ukraine attacks with your missiles
NATO will go to direct war with Russia if it allows Ukraine to attack Russian territory with long-range missiles provided by the West. This was the reaction of Russian President Valdimir Putin after signals that the US and Great Britain would soon remove the restriction on the weapons they provide to Kiev.
Putin said such a step would change the nature and scope of the conflict.
"It is not about allowing the Kiev regime to attack Russia with these weapons or not. It has to do with the decision whether NATO countries are directly involved in the conflict or not. If this decision is taken, it will mean nothing less than the direct participation of the USA and European countries in the war. It would change the essence and nature of the conflict. It would mean that the countries of NATO, the USA and the European ones would fight Russia", declared Putin, quoted by A2.
Putin's statement came on the eve of the meeting between US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The focus of the talks is expected to be the issue of giving the green light to Kiev, as far as long-range missiles are concerned. But it seems that Putin's warning has not deterred the British Starmer.
