Financier and member of the Rothschild banking dynasty, Lord Jacob Rothschild, has died aged 87, his family has announced.
Rothschild began his career at NM Rothschild & Sons in 1963 before founding the then J Rothschild Assurance Group, now St James's Place, with Mark Weinberg in 1980.
He also founded Windmill Hill Asset Management, which manages the family's philanthropic portfolio.
During his career, he also served as vice president of the then "BSkiB" television, as well as chairman of the Board of the National Gallery.
