Croatia bans tourists from using suitcases while passing through the city

Dubrovnik in Croatia has decided to ban tourists from using their wheeled suitcases as they walk through the heart of the old town as part of a move to stop noise in the city.

Mayor Mato Frankovic launched a battle against noise pollution after locals complained about the annoying noise created by tourists dragging their suitcases around town.

In an article in the Croatian newspaper, Jutarnji List, Mayor Frankovic said: “They will leave their bags at the designated point and we will, of course, for a fee, send their luggage to the address where they will be staying.

This is just the beginning, the ultimate goal is to create a logistics center inside the airport, after which all the luggage that the visitors of Dubrovnik will have, will be transported directly from Ćilipo to their addresses".
