Italy, 2600 euro fine for those who drive with a mobile phone in hand

In Italy, a new draft law has been approved that toughens the sanctions against those who commit serious violations of the traffic code.

Heavy fines for those who exceed the speed limits (for repeat offenders who commit violations in residential areas, up to 1084 euros fine and license suspension from 15 to 30 days), while for those who use mobile phones while driving they can reach up to 2600 euros.

License also suspended for anyone found running a red light.
