The former Prime Minister of Lithuania Gendiminas Kirkilas has passed away at the age of 72
He was found dead in his home, with no signs of violence.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonite paid tribute to Kirkilas, underlining that he was a "powerful figure" who was actively involved in the country's political life.
Gediminas Kirkilas served as the Minister of Defense of Lithuania from 2004 to 2006 and for the next two years (2006-2008) he was the head of the Social Democratic government.
