Hackers linked to the Chinese government stole about 60,000 emails from the accounts of ten State Department employees earlier this summer, a US Senate official told Reuters on Wednesday.
The official said the emails were stolen from 10 different State Department accounts.
Although their names were not released, all but one worked on cases involving the East Asia and Pacific region, he said.
