The dramatic moment when the super typhoon collapses the bridge in Vietnam and the words of the motorcyclist who escaped by a thread
This is the moment when super typhoon Yagi destroys the Vietnam bridge. Since Saturday, when the typhoon hit Vietnam, it has claimed 60 lives.
Vietnam's most powerful storm in 30 years has wreaked havoc in the north of the country, leaving 1.5 million people without electricity.
Although it has now weakened, authorities have warned that Yagi will continue to be dangerous as it moves west.
More than 240 people were injured by the typhoon, which brought winds of up to 203 km/h.
Ten cars and two scooters fell into the Red River after the Phong Chau Bridge collapsed. 3 people managed to be pulled alive from the river.
Nguyen Minh Hai, the gentleman on the motorcycle said:
"I was very scared. I feel like I just escaped death. I don't know how to swim and I thought I would die if I fell into the water."
Part of the 375-metre structure is still standing and the army has been instructed to build a pontoon bridge across the gap as soon as possible.
