The Tax Administration warns businesses in writing: You have until November 20 to declare real wages
The Directorate of Taxes, in a letter sent to taxpayers in their E-filing system, has warned the entities that are considered at risk, as they are suspected of not declaring the real salaries of their employees, to reflect until November 20.
On the contrary, risk subjects will be subject to continuous control and monitoring in the following period. The letter was sent to 37,331 taxpayers identified as being at risk in the field of informality of wages as they have a high percentage of minimum wage employees and specialized professions with wages that do not match the market. These taxpayers, despite the first notification sent at the beginning of October, have not yet reacted.
"From the analysis of the data that the Tax Administration has carried out based on the self-declaration you made in September 2024, it results that in your payroll there is a high percentage of employees with minimum wage and specialized professions with wages that do not match the market.
For this reason, the Tax Administration considers you a risk subject in the field of salary informality!
On October 1, 2024, the Tax Administration addressed you with a personalized message, in your e-Filing account, through which it encouraged you to accurately and truthfully declare the salaries of your employees by October 20, 2024, but you did not reflect despite the notice.
As above, the Tax Administration, thanks to the advisory approach, in implementation of the awareness campaign it has undertaken, gives you a second opportunity to declare accurately and truthfully in the next payroll, dated November 20, to correct your situation.
If this does not happen even after the second notification, we inform you that you will be subject to continuous control and monitoring in the following period.
We remind you that: "False declaration of these data constitutes tax evasion and as such constitutes an administrative and criminal offence, according to Law 9920/2008, 'On Tax Procedures in RSH', as amended and Law No. 7961, dated 12.7.1995 'Labor Code of the Republic of Albania' amended"!

At the beginning of October, the Tax Administration sent a sensitization message to the subjects, within the initiative of the Albanian Government, for the drafting of a National Plan that guarantees the payment of Social and Health Insurance for a secure pension in the future.
Taxes announced that they will evaluate, analyze, record and treat all cases of phenomena and taxpayers with risk in this field. It will monitor the data that the subjects themselves declare, will cross the information through the IT systems it has, as well as with third parties for any information related to the employees.
The Directorate of Taxes announced the day before that after the general notification (pop up) to 130 thousand taxpayers in the Republic of Albania, registered until the end of September 2024, about 9,000 taxpayers have reacted positively, reflecting accuracy in their payroll statements. of them, after the first announcement of the Tax Administration, increasing the declared salary fund by a total of 1.25 billion ALL.
