What is expected to happen on Tuesday in the court hearing against Trump

Former US President Donald Trump is expected to appear in court in Manhattan, New York on Tuesday afternoon.

Trump will travel from Florida on his private jet while surrendering to federal agents there to protect him.

A grand jury has indicted Trump over a $130,000 payment to buy silence from porn star Stormy Daniels after the latter claims they had an affair.

The charges are not yet public, and a lawyer for Trump said Friday that he has not yet read the indictment either.

The process is also likely to involve Secret Service agents, one official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Trump will not be handcuffed," he added, saying handcuffs are usually only used on suspects deemed to be a flight or security risk.

Trump's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said Trump may not appear in court on Tuesday, "but nothing is certain." Prosecutors "will try to get any kind of publicity they can out of this," he said.
