Zelensky in Tirana/ Here are the roads that will be blocked
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will visit Albania for the first time, on February 28-29, when the summit for Ukraine and the Western Balkans will also be held.
The summit will take place under high security measures. The implementation of the plan of measures for the smooth running of order and security by the State Police will start on February 27, after Zelensky arrives in Rinas on the evening of February 27. In total, over 1,500 police forces will be engaged in maintaining order and security for the summit. 1500 police forces, which include the Anti-Terror, the Guard, FNSH, RENEA, crime and law enforcement officers, but also the Traffic Police of Tirana will be deployed on the ground for the success of the summit. Likewise, the Garda and SHISH will have many agents to monitor social networks in addition to the field, if there are calls for instability. Likewise, all the photos of persons suspected of having extremist tendencies have been sent to all border points, so that they are not allowed to enter our country. Regarding the safety of the dignitaries who will be at the summit for days, there are also foreign experts in our country, who have provided their assistance in escorting the foreign dignitaries from Rinas. Especially a special group dealing with the security of Ukrainian President Zelensky. The anti-explosive groups that monitor the main roads and supervise the entire security perimeter will also be on the ground from the police.
The State Police has taken a series of detailed measures for the safety of Mr. Zelensky, starting from Rinas airport, escort to Tirana to the places where the meetings will take place, accommodation and escort to Rinas, at the end of the visit.
One of the measures of the detailed plan consists in securing the passage of the Ukrainian president, who will arrive in Tirana on the evening of February 27.
In this context, the State Police will block some road segments, as well as partial blocking of some other segments, depending on the meetings and activities that will take place during these two days, in Tirana.
The measures taken by the State Police are in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, inside and outside the country, in order to guarantee public order and security, as well as for the smooth running of the Summits.
For security reasons and to guarantee the success of this Summit, there will be blockages and diversions of some interurban and urban axes of the capital.
The following axes will be blocked:
- "Rinas - Qafe Kashar" road and vice versa;
– "Tirana-Vora" highway and vice versa;
– The Great Ring, from the former "Eagle" square, to the Sanatorium district, and vice versa;
– Elbasan street from the Sanatorium district to the Elbasan bridge and vice versa.
-Also, all the roads that connect Elbasan road with the roads "Papa John Paul II", "Dervish Hima", "Asim Zeneli", "Themistokli Gërmenji", "Ismail Qemali", "Mustafa Matohiti", "Jul Variboba" , "Faik Konica", "Fatmir Haxhiu", "General Nikols", Atjon street, "Sheh Ahmet Pazar", as well as all the streets that connect "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard with "Ibrahim Rugova" streets, "Free Ukraine" ” and “Lek Dukagjini”, will be blocked.
Parking of vehicles will not be allowed in these segments, and therefore all residents of the area will be notified of non-parking of vehicles in these segments.
For drivers coming from the north, with the destination of Rinas airport, the crossing will be from the "Fushë Prezë - Rinas" axis;
-For drivers coming from Durrës, bound for Rinas airport, the crossing will be from the axis "Vorë - the old road of Fushë Kruja";
- For drivers coming from the southeast, with the destination of Rinas airport, the crossing route will be from the axis "Elbasan - TEG roundabout - eastern ring - Paskuqan - Kamëz - intersection of Valias - Rinas".
Police services will be present on all the entrance and exit roads of the city of Tirana and on other roads inside the capital, in order to take measures to ensure and regulate traffic on alternative roads.
