Tirana is continuing its urban transformation with another very ambitious project, which aims to rehabilitate the Lana River from the Technological Bridge [Pallati me Shigjeta] to the intersection with Rr. "Teodor Keko" [New Ring]. This project is part of the general urban plan of the capital, following the contemporary European standards for such major investments.

The project includes the extension of two main boulevards, "Gjergj Fishta" and "Bajram Curri", which will run parallel to Lana, significantly improving circulation and the quality of life for the citizens of Tirana. The new segment, which will stretch along 1.8 kilometers, will also include the construction of a new bed for the river, with the aim of eliminating frequent floods and urban development of the surrounding area.

Among the main elements of this project are the construction of two new bridges over the Lana river, which will serve for the circulation of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The bridges, with a length of 24 meters, will be connected to the extended boulevards that will include all the modern infrastructure, such as signage, lighting, landscaping, and telecommunications.

The project also envisages the construction of dedicated bicycle lanes with a width of 2.5 meters, sidewalks for pedestrians with a width of 2 meters, as well as a running track 2 meters wide, thus ensuring a safe and comfortable movement for all road users. A special importance has been given to the access of pedestrians and persons with disabilities, minimizing architectural barriers and guaranteeing free movement on the sidewalks.

In line with the need to improve the quality of urban life and reduce pollution, the project will also address the problems of sewage and rainwater drainage, which until now have caused significant pollution of the river.

This project is expected to bring major improvements to the city's infrastructure, making Tirana a greener, safer and more livable city.
