The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, was injured after a gun attack at the end of a Government meeting near Bratislava.
The event took place in Handlova, a locality about 180 kilometers north-east of the capital.
The author stated that he committed the attack on Robert Fico because he did not agree with his government's policies.
The author is a well-known writer in the country, while it is already expected that he will be interrogated and the full dynamics of the serious event will be clarified.
The government's press office said that Fico is in a very serious condition and was rushed to the Banska Bystrica hospital in Bratislava, after being shot with 4 bullets.
Fico was taking part in the government meeting, when the shots were heard, which according to the testimonies from the scene were numerous. His bodyguards immediately intervened and made it possible to arrest the assassin.
Robert Fico returned to power in Slovakia after last September's elections, at the head of the populist-nationalist coalition.
