The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, reacted after Ilir Meta's accusations that he had meetings with the corrupt former FBI official, Charles McGonigal. In a statement to Report TV, Dumani stated that he has not met McGonical.
Duman's Statement: I have never met McGonigal. Everything has been said in the media, it is in the wake of the continuous, baseless accusations made against the institution that I lead. There was no reason to meet McGonigal, I never even knew him and I heard his name after publications in the Albanian media.
Invited yesterday to the "Opinion" show, the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said in a television interview that the Head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, is a defender of the impunity of Prime Minister Edi Rama and that he started investigations against him after the meeting with Mc Gonigal.
Meta's statement: SPAK launched an investigation in December 2019, according to my data, even after Duman's meetings with McGonigal. And why did it start in December 2019 for a closed case? Because it was time that Ilir Meta did not allow the Constitutional Court to be invaded by Edi Rama's gang.
