Spanish tourists attacked by businessman in Himara: One man alone does not represent Albania

This family, who was on a holiday in the Southern region of our country, was faced with an unpleasant situation yesterday after a confrontation with a restaurant owner. Tourists from Spain chose a bar in Porto Palermo, Himara, but due to a delay in service, a conflict ensued that eventually ended in violence by the owner, 51-year-old Mihal Kokedhima.

To show that the situation does not generalize Albanians nor the service in our country, Tourism Minister Blendi Klosi met the family members today, while he gave a bouquet of flowers to the lady of the house.

In his Instagram post, Minister Klosi wrote that “the experience that the Spanish tourists went through doesn’t represent Albania as a whole country”.

Furthermore, he stated that the family appreciated the immediate reaction of the authorities and the direct interest of the government.

Meanwhile, the police force says that the 51-year-old was arrested, but the case was referred to the Prosecutor’s office.
