    Soreca: Romanian presidency has provided positive signals for Albania in the EU


    In lieu of the conclusion of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council, a ceremony was held at the House of Europe in Tirana, which was attended by, among others, the Ambassador of Romania, Mircea Perpelea and the EU Ambassador Luigi Soreca. In his speech, Soreca stated that the Romanian Presidency has carried out a number of positive actions in the region, focusing on expanding the union with the Western Balkan countries, including Albania.
    “The Romanian presidency has carried out a number of positive actions in the region, especially considering the difficult political climate. Romania has done a lot throughout this period, undoubtedly a complex moment. The EU is establishing new leaders on July 16, where there will be a debate in regard to the European Commission president, “ said Soreca.

    While the Romanian ambassador stated that one of the main points of their work has been precisely the further enlargement of the EU.

    “We have been able to achieve all of our priorities in the Western Balkans, but especially in Albania. Romania has provided positive signals for Albania to further advance integration,” Perpelea said./ Tiranapost.al
