After the allegations stated by the Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha, accusing the new Mayor of Shkodra involvement with narco-trafficking, the city of Shkodra was covered in leaflets containing a rhetoric against the elected mayor.
Earlier today, Valdrin Pjetri took on Facebook to defend himself.
In his remarks he stated that “the tracts scattered throughout the night in Shkodra, organized by 4-5 people, do not represent the interests of the citizens of Shkodra nor the interests of honest Democrats in Shkodra. They just want to distract them from the many years of abuses committed in Shkodra Municipality, and they cannot change the fact that after a week this abuse will end once and for all”.
While saying that he isn’t the cause of the “miserable situation in which Shkodra currently is”, Pjetri promises the citizens that “better days will come for Shkodra and its residents”.
Valdrin Pjetri will be sworn in on August 21 as mayor of Shkodra, while Prime Minister Edi Rama has not given any comments on this event.
