PM Rama cites comedienne Zamira Kita on issue of new Theater building

Prime Minister took to Facebook on Sunday to announce the importance of the building of the new Theater as well as preservation of all objects inside the old building. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared this opinion with the Korça comedienne Zamira Kita.

“No matter how much we reconstruct it, I don’t believe it will become a good, appropriate building. I’m for a new theater, ” Kita said, while also being in favor of the idea to have a museum inside the building, open to all visitors.

“Prominent Korça actress Zamira Kita, one of the intermediate generation protagonists among the founders and the youngest of the Albanian theater community, highly applauded and respected for her artistic contribution, shares her opinion on the National Theater based on a long experience full of passion on the Albanian scene”, posted PM Rama.

While Zamira Kita wrote: “The current building is of no value. The objects, the wardrobe of the actors who played in that stage, should be preserved in the new theater that will be built, to create a museum accessible to everyone. Having the experience of the Korça Theater, I think a new theater should be built from the ground up. The National Theater has a complete depreciation, it is not suitable for performing, it is not functional nor cozy. No matter how much we reconstruct it, I do not believe it will become a good, appropriate building. I’m for a new theater, for a project like the one we’ve seen, a modern one, to provide us with as many theater environments as we have seen around the world. I think the debate has been misused by political segments./Tiranapost.al
