The Botanical Garden in Tirana will undergo a thorough transformation in an effort to provide services to all citizens. Deputy major Arbjan Mazniku said in an interview with Top Channel that the Tirana University has no financial means and capacity to invest in the garden. “We are willing to do the project together so that the Garden can also have academic functions as well,” Mazniku said. The deputy mayor said that protests against the project are being used politically.
“I believe that people who protest against the project are badly informed in the best scenario or is being used politically in the worst scenario,” he added.
Several people gathered in front of the Botanical Garden to protest against the project. The chairperson of Socialist Movement for Integration, Monika Kryemadhi, opposed the government’s project which according to her is aimed to making the country a massive territory of concrete.
She accused the government of transforming every institution in the country into a money laundering machine./Tiranapost.al/
