Of course we will speak openly as Europeans, said the head of the German delegation Josip Juratovic at a live conference from the premises of the German Embassy. Speaking of the Albanian aspiration for the EU, Juratovic said that in Albania and in the region not everyone is enthusiastic. Juratovic stated: Those who have some kind of fear against chapters 23-24 (related to Justice Reform – namely: Chapter 23: Speaks of the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, while Chapter 24 speaks of justice, freedom and security ). Asked if it is the Albanian politicians, those who are not so enthusiastic, Juratovic answered that he does not rule out anyone.
Of course we will speak openly as Europeans. We must say that not all EU citizens are enthusiastic about further enlargement. On the other hand, in Albania or in the region, there are also people who are not all equally enthusiastic about the negotiations. And I believe I refer to those who have a sort attitude versus chapters 23-24 (explained above). I have always said in my talks that integration means first of all providing a chance for a country’s democratization and a kind of reward for pursuing reforms and meeting the goals of a country.
When asked if he meant Albanian politicians, Juratovic said: I do not rule anyone out, be that in politics or society. Therefore, I think that today it is more important than ever to have reforms in justice, the fight against corruption must be worked on and conducted in the best possible manner. The opening of talks is based on the relevant chapters on these issues. These can not be avoided, the people and especially youth need perspective. I suffer when i look at young people who seek to live elsewhere. / Tiranapost.al. D.Xh
