The Chairman of the Investigative Commission for the Impeachment of President Meta, Ulsi Manja announced that the process will last last for three months, and that it is in full composition according to the determined regulation. The Investigation Commission will have 9 members, 5 from the majority and 4 from the new opposition. Manja unveiled details on the work process of this Commission: ” The first stage is composition. Regarding the scope of work of this Parliamentary Investigative Commission: the overall objective is the verifying of the procedures followed by the president in exercising the powers related to the election of the governing bodies in June 30. Judicial decisions will be also verified, as well as the consequences of these acts in relation to other institutions of the country such as the Council of Ministers etc.
President Meta’s impeachment was requested via a signed resolution, where it is concluded that the actions and attitude in relation to his constitutional position regarding the procedures for the conduct of the elections, are serious violations of the Constitution and constitute a legitimate cause for impeachment from office, pursuant to Articles 92 and 112. This committee, referring precisely to Decision No. 84, approved by the Assembly on 8 July 2011, will conduct a full investigation for a period of three months, of all data and facts that are reflected in the object of the petitioner’s request and the object of the investigation, followed by the submission of a final report, if the reasons for impeachment are valid. / Tiranapost.al.
