Frenemies: This is how once upon a time DP and SMI blamed each other for vote buying

Albania’s Socialist Movement for Integration and Democratic Party are enjoying a very good alliance nowadays. President Ilir Meta who is still the country’s president has been openly active in support of his party by violating the Constitution and canceling the elections.

Both parties have also used wiretaps of phone calls between Socialist Party members which have been published by the German Bild tabloid and are trying to act as ‘political virgins’ when it comes to vote buying.  However, the history speaks louder than words and is definitely not in their favor.

Take 2015 for example. Four years ago, Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration have repeatedly attacked each other when it comes to vote buying.

These televised statements highlight the fact that both opposition parties who are now the ‘pioneers’ of the fight against vote buying are indeed the ones to blame.

Another reminder of their involvement is in 2017 when Lulzim Basha accused the Socialist Movement for Integration for vote buying and corruption./Tiranapost.al/D.U
