EC’s recommendation will not be postponed, Albania learns the answer regarding Wednesday’s negotiations

Even though there have been rumors that the 2019 Enlargement Package, or rather the European Commission’s recommendation for the Western Balkan countries, including North Macedonia and Albania, would be postponed, this will not happen. The proposal will be made public on May 29, according to Commissioner Johannes Hahn’s cabinet, confirming the news for EWB.
Wednesday may become a hub of hope for Albania, and especially the Rama government, which has recently been put under constant pressure from EU countries, especially Germany, the Netherlands and France.
If the Commission’s proposal for the reopening of the negotiations is positive, the next decisive step, will be taken on June 18th, when the Council of Europe’s ministerial meeting will be convened and the recommendation of the Commission will be rejected or approved .
The regional and European press have written about the possibility for Macedonia to open negotiations in June, while ‘Albania’s fate’ could be postponed for the fall. /Tiranapost.al/D.Xh
