Albania’s OSCE chairmanship is a historical opportunity that requires a multi-party engagement

The Albanian OSCE Chairmanship is one of Ditmir Bushati’s career highlights as minister of foreign affairs. In a Conference dedicated to Security in Bratislava, Bushati spoke of this historical opportunity, how it will impact Albania’s role and the need for a multi-party engagement.

Albania’s former minister of foreign affairs, Ditmir Bushati, attended the fourth thematic conference of the 2019 Slovak OSCE Chair, which focused on the Security Sector, Governance and Reform. Bushati took to social media to share some of the topics discussed among participants.

“I highlighted Albania’s path of reforms and the need for a more efficient connection between reforms in the field of security, rule of law and sustainable economic development,” Bushati said on Facebook.

“Albania can provide a precious contribution during the upcoming OSCE chairmanship, by further consolidating the practice of experience exchange and further ties between UN, its agencies and OSCE,” he added.

In his remarks, Bushati recalled that the OSCE chairmanship was one of Albania’s greatest accomplishment in terms of foreign policies. This chairmanship, according to Bushati, is closely tied to the EU membership and later on, in earning a permanent seat in the Security Council. Tiranapost.al
