Albania’s Fiscal Law aimed at fighting tax evasion

Starting from next year, taxpayers unable to justify their properties and assets will be under scrutiny by state officials who will step up efforts to fight tax evasion. Authorities plan to put in motion a new system which will facilitate the registration of properties such as apartments, land, luxury automobiles, yachts, boats, artwork, crypto currency, etc.  Albania’s “Fiscal Law”, is expected to come to force on January 1st 2020.  The project aims to report all transactions between businesses and consumers to the Tax Administration in real time, based on the new fiscal equipment system. Moreover, from January 1st 2020, all transactions between businesses and in between businesses and public bodies will be made on the basis of electronic invoices. The system is already set up by the Croatian company NEO, which won the 15 million euro tender of the Invoice Management and Control System a year ago./Tiranapost.al/
