AKEP to monitor quality of services of mobile operators

The three mobile companies in the country will be tested for the quality of services they provide. The Electronic and Postal Communications Authority announced that it is currently looking for the operator to lead a quality monitoring service campaign for the entire territory of Albania and subsequently to draft the relevant document. Referring to the technical specifications, AKEP underlines that the measurements will be carried out in two spheres, namely calls and internet service.

“Measurements should be made for all technologies authorized by AKEP (2G / 3G / 4G). Voice calls will be made according to the M2M method, in full mobility. Favored network should be 4G”, states the AKEP document.

The choice of districts is based on the administrative division of the Republic of Albania. Thus, the tests should be carried out in Drive Test, and should cover all urban and non-urban areas, while tests for call and data will be executed simultaneously for each operator, including all routes performed.

In a section of the document, AKEP underlines that the process will also focus on tourist areas, such as Velipoja, Shengjin, Durres, Vlora, Riviera, Valbona, Vermosh, Theth, Lura, Llogara, Dardha and Voskopoja. Tiranapost.al
